Welcome to Downtown Memphis

Students attending Ashiatsu workshops at Envision Health Club have access to centralized lodging, restaurants, and yoga & fitness classes in the downtown Memphis area. The training facility is walking distance to the Peabody Hotel, Beale Street, and the Mississippi River.

Travel & Lodging

Envision Health Club is located in the heart of downtown Memphis on the corner of 2nd and Monroe. This makes it walking distance from many of the downtown hotels in the 38103 zip code. If you are flying into Memphis you will need to take a taxi/UBER downtown. Renting a car is another option, however, you will likely need to pay to park at most downtown hotels. You may have a better experience exploring downtown on foot or on the trolley that runs up and down Main St.

 

Many students have also had success with AirBnB for lodging as well. Check out our healing arts friend Diane's listing to get started!  Note: Students using AirBnB or other lodging options outside of the downtown area will need a car or Uber/Taxi Service for travel to and from the training facility each day.

TRAINING DAY INFORMATION

 

PLEASE ALLOW EXTRA TIME ON THE FIRST DAY OF CLASS TO LOCATE THE TRAINING FACILITY. Plan to arrive at 8:30 on the first day in case you get lost. Scope it out the day before if you are able. Traffic is unpredictable and there are many one way streets. 

If the entrance door is not propped open or someone is not at the entrance to let you in when you arrive, please first try using the buzzer on the right of the door or call 901.489.5612 After getting through the door downstairs you will ride the elevator to the second floor. Training facility is located through the glass doors on the left that enter into a common area. Please do not leave your belongings in the common area. Bring them with you to the training room.

 

Pack yourself some snacks. If you also PACK A LUNCH it saves you time for resting and ensures you get back to class on time. You may utilize our cooler space for small lunches and we also have a microwave. Fresh filtered water is available all day for no charge.

There is a City Market Grocery & Deli within walking distance that we like to visit. They have pre-made items as well as snacks, sandwhiches and smoothies.

WE HIGHLY RECOMMEND that you bring a ROBE & SLIPPERS for visiting the restroom facility and to keep your oily feet from slipping as you move on and off the table during class.

 

Wintergreen alcohol in a spray bottle & an extra hand towel is great to have on hand for quickly cleaning your feet. You can also use baby wipes for this.

 

Parking is free on the street on the weekends. For weekdays I have parking passes for $3 a day for the First Place Parking Garage at 21 S 2nd Street (2nd and Monroe). Take your ticket and park. Purchase a day pass from me that has our stamp on it. Present that pass upon exiting the garage at the end of the day. Please use street parking on weekends and FIRST PLACE PARKING GARAGE ONLY. Do not park directly in front of the building. This is a loading and unloading zone only. TAKE SOME TIME TO LOCATE THE PARKING GARAGE and ALLOW EXTRA TIME IN THE MORNING FOR PARKING. Often times you must drive almost to the top to find a non-reserved spot.
